Organisation of education

  1. No restrictions in conducting face-to-face classes. Classes are conducted under general terms described in study programmes and in subject cards.
  2. Absence from classes is  justified by the teacher in accordance with the procedure specified in the Study Regulations. Any learning backlog resulting from the absence from classes or differences in study programmes of persons transferring from another field of study, from another University or resuming studies at the Silesian University of Technology, need to be completed in a manner and mode specified in subject cards.
  3. Consultations with teachers are conducted in the premises of the University in accordance with the agreed schedule, which is made available to students. Additionally, consultations may be carried out remotely.
  4. Verification of the achieved learning outcomes, including credits and examinations, is carried out in the mode specified in subject cards and in the manner specified in the Study Regulations.

Information is provided by the Vice Dean for Education responsible for the field of study, as well as by the Student Service Office and the Studies Service Centre.

Organisation and participation in events

Organisation of events takes place in compliance with general terms in the University.

Mobility

Foreign mobility takes place in compliance with general terms in the University.

The following are available to readers:

  • individual study zone – on the ground floor of the Library (the hall and the former Scientific Information Reading Room),
  • Ground floor –Lending Room, General Reading Room 2, Standards and Patents Reading Room, Scientific Information, snack bar,
  • 2nd floor – Journal Reading Room.

 

Detailed rules for using the Library of the Silesian University of Technology

  • The Library is open to all interested parties.
  • Free access to collections in Reading Rooms.
  • Users can use Library computer equipment and scanners (available in Reading Rooms 1 and 2).
  • In Reading Room 2, the available equipment is dedicated to the blind or visually impaired users.
  • New Readers sign up online: Registration for New Readers. It is requested to email the Lending Room: wypozycz@polsl.pl to activate an account. Upon receiving a return email, books can be ordered. In order to collect books, a student ID card needs to be presented, within 24 hours from the ordering time, and within 14 days.
  • The borrowed books must be returned within designated period. The Library charges fees for late return. Students are asked to monitor their library accounts.
  • First year students are invited to read the presentation about Library and the Guidebook.
  • It is recommended for SUT students and employees that they use electronic collections, also available from home computers via the HAN system and the training available on the Distance Education Platform Library Collections and Services for Distance Education.
  • The Library organises on-site trainings on employees’ or students’ demand.
  • Academic teachers are encouraged to submit publications intended for remote sharing in the Didactic Digital Library.

• Rooms and collections are fully accessible.

• Training sessions, exhibitions, vernissages and other collective events may be held at the Library.
